Robin Plevin is a Professor in Pharmacology at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and currently Head of Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences. He graduated with an honours degree in Pharmacology in 1983 from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD from the University of Southampton in 1987. He is a past Honorary Treasurer of the BPS, as well as a former Trustee and member of Council. Robin joined the society in 1990 and was elected a fellow in 2005. His current research interests are in the development of inhibitors of the nuclear factor kappa B pathway, the blockage of PAR-2 in arthritis and the role of Phosphatases in cell function.
